Is there any way of getting your visa in a shorter time, e.g. the higher the points, the quicker the processing time?

Can't speak for your solicitor, but certainly the waiting times are different for the various processing centers worldwide.

The "five years" thing, I guess, refers to London. Buffalo may well be shorter.

The feedback we receive from people 'still in the UK' tells a story. The lengthy waiting lists make them just as eager to get on with the process & jump the pond.
