I personally have had one of the busiest 18 months in my life with work for the company plus a whack of sidejobs!, so if this is the recesion...keep it coming! construcion seems to be booming in Central Ontario.

Maybe something to do with the home improvement tax incentive as well, which ends Jan 31st.

Yep, that definetly helps...although most of the work I do through my boss is commercial. Definetly helps the sidejobs come in though, and still booked solid with them way beyond the tax credit ending

We live in Calgary and the recession hit here pretty hard. My OH is a electrician and the construction and oil industry here were hit the hardest. There are signs though that the housing market, new builds included is picking up pretty quickly. If you had been coming over here 3 years ago, you could have landed a job instantly, now it might just take a little longer.

Good luck
Karen

OH had the odd day off in the summer , was told it was going to be worse as winter hit , so we prepared for the worse and bought ski passes for all them days off ...but that wasnt the case . Never been busier , days off he wishes. Alot of the goverment builds are coming through now , but at the same time new builds with housing has taken off again ..
