Is there any way I could do it?

I have read relevant websites and info here on this forum, so am pretty sure I know the answer already. Anyway, after having had to return from my life in the States, I am really miserable and am desperate to try something else. I am 39. I am an academic administrator/PA. I have relatives in Canada but they are not prepared to sponsor me. I have a few thousand pounds at my disposal. I don't have a French qualification, but used to study it and have picked it up again in the past. Is there any way on earth I could possibly emigrate to Canada?

Hi Mark...have you checked how many points you have? Check out WIKI at the top of the page...info on there about finding a job and all the help you'll need. Welcome to BE and good luck with your search...xx

well I have managed it and so far so good just got PNP cert

I have no job and not enough points and no relatives in canada etc so would not qualify for any of the slow boat to china( read canada) routes and besides I dont do waiting

have a look at nova scotia commuity identified

it requires effort commitment risk etc etc etc and giving your all to realise your dream but if you want it bad enough it can be done

huge luck

You can certainly give it a try and I think you could manage it. There is the NS CIS as Chumley has mentioned, but if you don't want to commit to Nova Scotia or take the risk then your only other hope is to find a job.

Have a read of the Wiki (on blue bar at top of page) which will give you all the info you need about how to immigrate to Canada and give you an idea of what living there would be like. Here are a few articles/sections to get you started...........http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Quick_...an_Immigration

http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Labour_Shortages - pay particular attention to the OUP lists mentioned in this article as I'm sure I've seen before that PA's are on them for at least one province so that will make things easier and give you an idea of where to focus your search.

Just out of interest, what relatives do you have in Canada and why won't they sponsor you? Do they realise how easy it would be and that there is no cost involved for them to do so?

Best of luck. :)
