Temporary Healthcare
Hi any recommendations for temporary healthcare, we have it in my husband's employment package but not for the first 3 months. TIA

Insurance covers your initial travel/flight over and then up to 3 months health cover once you arrive in Canada.

Re: Temporary Healthcare
If you haven't yet travelled to Canada, look at the emigration insurance from DownUnder

The wiki link didn't work but I'll look into it, thanks.
We're landed PR's already but we would be establishing residence in Toronto I think.

Actually just one more question if that's ok. I've had an OHIP card before but I was on IEC at the time. Does that have any bearing on this? My partner has never had one.

Same link as in my previous post
https://www.ontario.ca/page/apply-ohip-and-get-health-card#section-2
Full list of documents: https://www.ontario.ca/page/document...et-health-card
You must apply for OHIP in person at a ServiceOntario centre. You can drop in, or book an appointment.
You will need to bring these documents with you:
- a completed Registration for Ontario Health Insurance Coverage form
- three separate, original (not photocopies or printouts of electronic documents) identification documents:
- one that proves your Canadian citizenship or OHIP-eligible immigration status (e.g. Canadian birth certificate, Permanent Resident Card )
- one that proves you live in Ontario (e.g. Ontario Driver’s Licence, income tax assessment)
- one that supports your identity (e.g. credit card, passport from any country)
If you’ve been out of Ontario for more than 212 days in any 12‑month period, you may have to reapply for OHIP. Contact ServiceOntario to be sure.

Re: Temporary Healthcare
Landed isn't establishing residency, sorry. You will need documentary evidence that you are presently residing in Ontario - full details on the links
