Teachers in Vancouver classroom behaviour
I have a question for anyone who has taught in England and is now teaching in Canada, especially the Vancouver area:
How does the average student behaviour in Vancouver compare with that of Britain? I've just been admitted to teacher training in the Vancouver area and I wonder what I might expect if I manage to be employed..... Thanks |
Re: Teachers in Vancouver classroom behaviour
to be honest .............. it can depend on where the school is, and what level you are teaching
Vancouver has elementary and high school Other municipalities have elementary, middle school and high school Then there are the private schools, including religious ones. Students at public schools generally do not wear uniforms, those at private schools do. I've often found that makes a difference. You may well find that life in schools here is more casual than you are perhaps used to. I taught in England, but not here ............... my observances are from watching and knowing children in the schools. |

There will be a lot more stabbings and shootings than in the UK. So, get familiar with the local SD's lockdown procedures.

The kids enjoy a good lock-down. It's exciting.
