Default Taxi's in Halifax, NS....

Okay never used or even noticed a Taxi since I have been in Halifax - any idea at the cost? I need to go from Clayton Park to a school in Spryfield. Is it going to be MEGA expensive?

Looks like you could have a few beers and fall into a Black Cab, to take you home. http://halifax.worldweb.com/Transportation/Taxis/

I got a taxi from the Delta Halifax Hotel to St Mary's University last year when I was taking my nursing exam. I think that I paid about $12 which wasn't cheap but they probably charge top rates for folk who get taxis from hotels.

And yes, the taxi drive did chat, I really struggled to know what he was saying though. I m used to Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi accents where I live, but add in a Canadian twang and I was completely thrown

We've used Casino taxi's - it's about $25 from Bedford to Halifax
Do you need a lift?
Can help as long as it's not Friday afternoon.

Yep, you have to watch yourself out here - they shoot you in the chest at traffic lights if they dont like the look of ya And if you are coming in a taxi it means you have some money, so double risky!

Best bring some of that good Crack cocaine with you - its the only thing we understand out here

Casino Cabs and Yellow cabs are the main 2 companies on the Halifax side of the harbour, with Bob's/bluebell the only company in Dartmouth. Cabs are pretty expensive I feel and the quality of cab is very hit and miss, a cab from Clayton Park to Spryfield should be approx $10 - $15 I would guess.
