Tax forms again
Hello, before I left the UK I sent off my P85 to the tax man, and brought with me the HMRC form for the Canadian tax man to stamp to confirm that I am know resident for tax purposes.
Do I send this to the HMRC in the UK before they will process the P85 for a possible rebate? I e-mailed HMRC but got an automated reply saying that because of technical issues we will reply in about 3 weeks in the mean time any body offer any help/advice regarding this question? Thank you

We never sent anything to HMRC other than the P85.

To OP
Do you have any property rented out in the UK? I ask this as if this is true then they wont process a rebate from the P85.

If you file a P85 the HMRC will refund anything you've already paid via PAYE, simple as that.
Another thing you should do is file an R105 with your UK bank so they stop withholding income taxes.

They wont do this if you have UK property being rented out and have registered under the Non-resident Landlord scheme. In this scenario you will get the tax rebate when you submit your tax return for that financial year. Got my rebate the other week.
