Tax Back When Leaving Canada
Hi
I will be going home in maybe a month or two,I will have been here in Saskatchewan almost 2 years. Will it be possible for me to claim some tax money back when I leave? Is it worth doing and how would I go about it? Thanks in advance |

Re: Tax Back When Leaving Canada
If you are due a refund, you will have to file a tax return. If you leave early in the tax year, you may well be due some tax back.
You don't get tax back just by leaving the country. |

The visitor rebate program for GST/HST was replaced on April 1, 2007, with the Foreign Convention and Tour Incentive Program (FCTIP).

Thanks for the replies
I came here on IEC visa in May 2014 I know I sound stupid, but I didn't realise I had to file my own tax return, until now. Can I still do it or will there be some kind of penalty? Also will it be easy to do myself? |
