Swift Current?
 

Anyone familiar with this bit of SK?

I friend was asking regarding a job oportinity in the hospital there. Most of you SK lot seem pretty content with life out there it seems. Anyone offer any local colour?

All I know is that they had a lottery recently or some kind of bidding on housing lots and there was a lot of interest. I would think it was like most Saskatchewan small towns - friendly helpful people. Apart from that I think its hotter and dryer than the rest of southern Sask.

Sort of in the middle of nowhere, right on the Trans-Canada Highway about three hours west of Regina, and about two and a half hours east of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Population 16,000 according to city website. Wikipedia has a page about Swift Current.

Has a WHL hockey team (Swift Current Broncos).

Also has a small airport although I don't think it has any scheduled service.

As Lizwil stated it could be in pretty dry area, link to weather office 30 year averages for Swift Current.
