Summer in Toronto
Guys,
I know Toronto gets hot and humid in the summer but is it that bad? Does the aircon in the shopping malls, office blocks, public transport make things bearable?? Just got back this week from a recon visit and it was quite warm (70s) but people kept saying it gets way hotter! Just keen to know how much hotter and how long the worst (or best depending how you look at it) lasts? Cheers, P |

Re: Summer in Toronto
When we arrived in August we found it hot but not impossibly so. You want aircon in your residence. It was OK and I don't cope well with too high temperatures (Carry a bit too much of my own insulation :) )
Don't underestimate the power of the sun , I have nasty sunburn from a brief walk yesterday :( |
Re: Summer in Toronto
We have A/C in our house now where we have been for 2 years but the 3 years before that we lived in a few different apartments that don't have A/C and it can get pretty hot and humid and especially when it is a day with no wind even a multitude of fans can't make the heat go away, especially at night when you are trying to sleep. However it's really only a few weeks that it is that hot, almost all the other days are much better, cooler at night. You will most likely be at work most days when it is hottest and have A/C there and if you have A/C at home then you only have to worry about the outside bits which can be like walking into an oven, especially downtown where you have to factor in the smog and pollution so it can be fairly hard on the lungs, I found when I lived an hour or so north of the city the heat was the same but more bearable outside due to better air quality.
