study visa

Hi guys,

I have a quick question, my daughter is starting uni in september so she is applying for a study visa, does anyone know how long before she starts her course on the 9th of september can she go? would you just have to request to the visa officer a different date? can you go like 3-6 months before it in order to settle in and find your way around etc?

thanks!

I don't believe there is any restriction on when you can arrive once the permit is approved by the London High Commission, however she won't be able to work off-campus until she has done 6 months of studying, so it is worth bearing in mind that it'll have to be all savings up until then. Of course the actual issuing of the permit is up to the officer at the airport when she arrives.
