Student Loans for 18 yr old daughter
So, I am just wondering if anybody out there has been in the same situation as ourselves. My family and I came over to Vancouver Island August 2018 with myself on a study permit, I have spent almost two years at University and will be graduating in April 2020, My 18 yr old daughter will be graduating from her Canadian High School also in 2020 and wants to go onto University. I will be applying for a 3 year post grad work permit once I have graduated which means we will still only be temporary residents. This means my daughter has to apply to uni as an international student which is a lot of money (but still almost cheaper than the UK). She is not eligible for student loans in Canada as we are not yet permanent residents. I don't think she can get a student loan in the UK as we will not have lived there for 2 years by the time she starts uni. I am looking for some private student loan companies here in Canada but haven't found anything suitable yet. I was just wondering if anybody else had been in this type of predicament and found a solution. We really need to get PR as soon as possible but I think I am going to have to work for a year after graduating to build our points up. Any help or info would be much appreciated - thanks.

She will also need to apply for a study permit to attend University I believe. As far as I am aware it's not possible to get any form of student funding as a temporary resident. What are your points at the moment?
I wonder if your daughter could apply for an IEC working holiday work permit when the pool opens, so that she could take a 'gap' year and work while PR is sorted out? Presently she would not be able to work at all as a dependent.

A stop gap, but might serve the purpose.
