Staying a while longer.....

Circumstances and emotions have changed quite rapidly over the past few days and (for those that know my experience over the past 12 months) I have accepted & agreed that it would be a much wiser decision to stay here in Canada for however long it takes for the world's economy to get back on track and for house prices to become "healthy" again......so I guess I'll be "grinning and bearing" those Canadian winters & bad drivers for a good while longer :ohmy:

Ok, good, decision made. Now, how can we help you cope with it? ;-)

From reading your other posts Ruby that must have come from deep down, I can only imagine how low you have been, a huge pat on the back for being able to see through all that and do the most logical thing,

Maybe now you have made a decission you will be a little happier i really do hope so

Im not sure how long this economic downturn will last, hopefully not too long

Out of interest had you ever visited Canada in the winter before you moved?

I have visited 7 times, but I have only ever been in the Winter, so my Canadian experience has either been rain, sleet and snow in BC (I'm sure I saw the sun briefly one day!) and up to -40 with a lot more sun in Alberta.

I am not sure quite what to expect in the Summer.

YAY! I don't lose my mate to the other side of the world just yet:thumbsup::thumbsup: That must have been hard Rubes but I do think it's the sensible thing to do. (You had my support either way). Are you going to apply for citizenship now too - just so you have the option of comming back when you do go back?

Yes. Calgary is apparently home to 25 species of Mossie.

Hope things improve for Ruby, one way or another.

Sorry to hear you won't be returning just yet Ruby, I know how much you wanted to.

Glad to hear it Ruby. Then when you make your decision, whatever it may be, it won't be at the height of emotions. I bet it feels a bit like a weight off your shoulders right now, so try to relax and take care of you.

Well done ruby on making that decision, i know how hard it must have been for you ;)

Life is a roller coaster, nothing is forever and no matter how many recci's you do, it doesnt get you ready for living these winter (wow the snow)

But you have a good life, just relax and more dog walking :thumbsup:

Sounds like a good idea - i was wondering what you expected to find in Newton. Home is home but i don't think too much is going on there at the minute. Did you consider another part of Alberta/Canada?

I can't say i thought too much of Red Deer when i was there.
