Sponsoring my father without sufficient income

Hello all,
I'm a Canadian citizen. After my divorce, I decided to go back to school about a year ago. I wish to sponsor my father, who's living alone in China, but I do not have enough income to qualify as a sponsor. Does anyone think that my father might qualify for the Humanitarian and Compassionate class, since he does not have any immediate family member to take care of him in China? If he did, would the financial requirement for a sponsor (me) be less stringent?

Get a job, make some money, have a decent income and then bring your father here, in
this case you and only you will be his sponsor. That's it! Or finish the school, get
a job and have the sufficient income to sponsor him. But do NOT expect others (read
Canadian people) to pay for him only because you just decided to go back to school.

Canada has a long standing tradition considering humanitarian = and/compassionate
circumstance. It is quite clear that not all cases = could have been foreseen by
legislation and therefore require the = personal consideration of the circumstances.
Canada has a committement to family reunification. It is one of the = main objectives
of the Act.
If your father is the last remaining family member and there are = circumstances in
your case that are unusual, then perhaps there is a = chance at an HC app.
Why would someone have to forego the support of their family because = they decided
to upgrade their skills and strengthen their long term = employment prospects rather
than sit on their behinds and collect = welfare?

Thanks Christian, I did not expect other Canadians to pay for my father's stay in Canada. He has savings and my brother in Italy will chip in to help as well. My only problem is that I could not show sufficient income in the past 12 months and would really like to bring my father here.
