British Expats - Speeding update..Timmins

I posted a little while back that I picked up a minor ($329) speeding fine while travelling up to Timmins back in september. Well, got a refunded cheque through the post. Seems the original certificate of offence was late filed by the enforcement agency. The Corporation of The City of Timmins have refunded my payment.

Kinda puts your faith back in the good of mankind. I'm guessing that either imcompetence on behalf of the Police Dept or as I'd rather believe, the officer in question let me off some way? Initially he told me I didn't really need to pay unless I intended to return to Ontario and then only if I got caught again speeding or similar. Told him I intended to emigrate to his wonderful country and that I'd better pay and asked for info on where and how to pay.

I can't think for a minute that this would voluntarily happen over here with a fixed penalty!
