South Slocan

hi there, hope you are all well, we are hopefully going to come out to canada to have a look around the area that we hope to live in, South Slocan, but i am trying to locate flights and accommodation but having no joy :ohmy:

Thanks in advance :) :fingerscrossed:

I'm not from there but I've travelled a lot in the area (assuming you mean South Slocan in BC). It's pretty rural. The closest citys would be Nelson and Castlegar and they're not very big - maybe 10000 people each.

If you are coming from the UK, you would have to fly into Calgary or Vancouver and possibly get a flight to Castlegar (Air Canada has flights from both Vancouver and Calgary to Castlegar). You'd probably want to rent a car from there since getting around won't be too easy otherwise.

That whole area is pretty historic by Canadian standards. There is plenty to see and do if you have a car. Bring a bathing suit - there are a number of hot springs in the area.

There is also a flight out of Vancouver to Trail with Pacific Coastal Airlines. Then rwin has it right, you'll need to rent a car.

Beautiful area, hope you like the outdoors :D

I didn't realize you could fly to Trail. I would do that then. Some say Trail is kind of dumpy but it's my favorite town in the area.

Rossland ain't too bad either, especially if you're into mountain biking and skiing
