Neil
Me again... We also have similar requests, two years back BC would have been a good bet, but the housing market went crazy, so now we are looking at getting work and finding cheaper areas. Nova Scotia looks really reasonable, but less people. Ontario has much more scope, but recently has bad weather. Personally, I don't mind the weather, living in North Scotland a while back. I have a contact in Toronto that works with companies in Ottawa, so this is the best place for work for me... the housing is farily reasonable as well. We also looked at housing in ONtario on the border with the US, some really nice property for your money! The aim is too lose the mortgage, which I could do in Ontario, but not in BC. Although, the BC housing market might change with the US economy situation, as a lot of US citizens used to go to BC for vacation, but they are not now. I hope that this is helpful Bob |

I'm originally from North Bay, Ontario which is about 1.5 hours drive from Sudbury (but I also lived in Sudbury for a few years). I would say either of those places would be nice. Loads of things to do in summer and winter - many lakes around these areas. We're planning on moving to North Bay once our PR gets approved... it's a great place to raise a family, and this is precisely why we're going there! I'm sure you've already checked it out, but a useful website is http://www.mls.ca . Don't hesitate to send me a message if you have more in-depth questions about Sudbury or North Bay. |

Re: somewhere to settle
Nova Scotia , Canadas Ocean Playground, can easily fulfill all your requirements and more.
http://www.novascotialife.com/node/205 I love the North Shore, but then I am biased. We have a bit of a micro climate here great for growing grapes http://www.jostwine.com/ The Northumberland Strait is like bath water often till October. This property is in the centre of Pugwash http://www.pugwashvillage.com/ close to schools, shops and hospitals. http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.as...ertyID=5966754 If you decide to check out NS and Truro and above PM me if you need any info. |
