SKY TV In Canada
Hi Folks
Just a thought, I read recently on here about someone wanting to know if they can pick up SKY in Canada. I assume that the footprint of the Astra satellite from which it transmits doesnt reach Northern America, but if you have relatives here you can buy a device called the 'slingbox'. As long as the person in the UK has broadband and freeview or sky you can have the signals sent via the internet and you can pick up the TV pictures anywhere in the world with your PC or laptop. The device also allows you to change channels too. Its what I will be using when I holiday in Canada and its costs about £180 and apparently can only be bought through PC World in the UK. Cheers, Chris |
Re: SKY TV In Canada
I've heard about this as well.
I think the only drawback is that when you change channels it obviously changes channel at the home of the digibox as well. I think the answer is to talk your ageing parents into getting a 2nd digibox which is set up somewhere and put in a cupboard which they'll never use. If you get one from PC Word at Cribbs... I wish you luck :D |
