Perhaps later versions worked better, ones made after the invention of small batteries.

Another online shopping option for comfortable North American clothes is llbean. Their prices are duty paid for Canada so no surprises in additional duties/fees.
There are multiple 30 and 40% off days or their clearance racks, I would like a new down jacket, i need one as much as a hole in the head but the woofter jumped and tore a hole in the sleeve of my 5 year old jacket and I loved it so I'd like a replacement, the only gripe I have with Eddie Bauer coats are the hoods, they are MASSIVE!

I do try to not buy ANYTHING from ANYWHERE unless its Walmart, Target or on sale

I don't think we tried them outside of the flat, they were just for the cold feet in bed. That wouldn't have been actually cold, not enough for power loss from batteries. I'm afraid I don't know where they are now, if I had them I could do some tests in the fridge.

foreigngirl - leave the downtown core and avoid the malls!

I was going to say, Main Street is my new favourite place to go shopping. Small, independent boutiques. Gastown has some nice shops, too.

Front & Company on Main is particularly dangerous. So is the Barefoot Contessa on Commercial.
