Could you kindly provide us with some more information regarding the company and what they have quoted you. So that we can all comment on what you have been told. Thanks.

Hi - the quote was for $2550, $300 less than a quote from Britannia, which is about right. The company is called Removals Supermarket, based in Birmingham, and they basically act as an agent for removals companies. That's as much as I know - seems legitimate but I'd just not heard of them before I submitted for a quote from them.

I've not heard of them, but if they are a broker make sure you know who the agents are they are using (at both origin and destination!) and make sure they are quality orientated companies. Check out if they are members of FIDI FAIM and the BAR Overseas Moving Group (members of both are listed on the respective organisations websites) to give you some idea.
BAR Overseas moving group also provides an advance payment guarantee should anything happen to the company while your items are being shipped.
Hope that helps,
Kirsty

The quote's a bit meaningless without more info.

Thanks both - it's not so much the quote, which is just slightly lower than others I've had, it's the legitimacy of the company. I've had more details about which agent they will use and they checked out with the info you mentioned, Kirsty, so thanks for the advice..... the payment goes to the agent, just wanted to check I will get my stuff (call me sceptical but I've been caught out like this before....)
Thanks ever so much

Thanks all...
I ended up paying £300 to RS, and referred to the contractor who then increased the quote by over £900. I was not best pleased....... I am still waiting to hear about my refund (yeah, right!) for being mis-sold the package.....!
However, all being said, the quote was still not unreasonable but am now looking to DIY (see other threads).
