Just a quickie, on the apllication for spouse sponsorship on IMM5440(i think)

It asks for name, D.O.B and address of the sponsors parents.

Now my wifes mother died last year so I have just put the date of birth, and then deseased.

However, with her dad, she has very little to do with him since her parents got seperated. She is one of 3 girsl and it is only the younger one who is in contact with him. She is in the Uk for 2 months currently.

I just wondered how accurate the address needs to be?
I.E, do they contact him. We have an address but it is old and we know full well that someone else is living there now. We think he may be living in his van!.

Any help greatly appreciated

Just my guess, not an expert...but you could put "last known address" at blah blah street, or "address unknown, last contact in 19xx".

Check with the experts on the immigration forum but I assume that parent and sibling details are just so they can check you're not related to known terrorists (as if you'd disclose that anyway!) and the like... I don't think they delve very deeply into the background of these people assuming no red flags come up when they run a basic check on their names and dates of birth.


Edited to add: Dan, I just looked at your timeline in your sig - what do you mean "clearance"? And if you're being sponsored, why haven't you got your medicals done already if you've submitted your application? Feel free to tell me to bog off...just being nosey!!

Similar situation with us. We were told by our agent/lawyer to supply a signed addressed personal statement, and call it statement, outlining the dates last of known address last know meeting etc.

No need to go into minute detail.

They will ask if more needed but they are more concerned with you.
