Yeah I was thinking this. It's really nice for a weekend. Can recommend the Oban Inn opposite the golf course. Think the school has closed (not enough local kids). Not sure if you have work lined up already? Demographic is retirees / tourism I was told.

does this first and last months rent business class as the bond/deposit?

You will pay first and last months rent when you sign a lease (which will be for 12 months duration, so pick carefully!) and will need to arrange for utilities etc., (who will also want a deposit) unless it's included in your rent.

As you aren't arriving until next week and then quarantining for 2 weeks you may struggle to find a property to move into for 1st November - so be prepared to have to wait until 1st December.

We live close by to NOTL. NOTL is lovely in the summer, but would not recommend it out of season. Very few amenities. You will end up driving alot to St Catharines or Niagara falls for major retail shops. Weather is changing in Niagara region and the fall temperatures are here. 14c this weekend feels chilly when it was in the mid 20s only a week ago. We have friends who rented a house from a couple still stuck in the USA. The house is now vacant, so don't know if they are going to rent it out over the winter. If interested, please let me know.

It's not a bond it's a kind of deposit as such - it's the first months rent (in advance) and the last month is held back (you get interest on it) but cannot be used to cover damages - it's really to ensure they get their last months' rent paid. All explained in the links given

However, if you didn't go through with the rental after signing a lease they could probably keep those amounts
