I'm moving to Kindersley, SK, with a full 20ft container. I've had Pickfords at the house today, but he hasn't come back to me with a price yet. I've had 3 others who have said they can get the container to the railhead in Saskatoon, but I need to organise my own customs agent and forwarding agent. Not sure if I want to do this. My container is in storage at Dublin Port at the minute as I was waiting on OH to declare his undying love for SK (which he now has!!).. I need my container to be in my house (obvioulsy not the container but the contents) before the 14th of December as we're moving 4 kids under 5 :-))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

BTW, we're living in a downstairs bedroom on a very uncomfortable divan bed (me and 4 kids) that is only worth burning, with 2 patio chairs in the sitting room with an antiquated tv and living on the generosity of neighbours for their saucepans and casseroles :rofl:..

Sorry to say this but we have used Pickfords and they were terrible from start to finish:thumbdown:

If Your goods are in storage, not in a shipping container you have sourced for your self, then there is no reason why you cant have door to door service. Have the people you have quotes from said why they wont do port to door.Did you put your goods in the storage container? have they been export wrapped?

Well actually I purchased the container and they are export wrapped. I know that sounds a bit mad, but I've someone to buy the container off me the other side so I'm only taking a hit of 400 quid on the container, and the storage would have been 600 quid! I've picked a company today, and they are doing door to door for me (well Port to door!), its working out at 2860 all in. There is an extra charge of 260 then on top of this for customs clearance and unloading and assembling furniture the other end. All in I got away with a door to door service for just over 3.4k... not bad for a days work seeing as most were coming in between 6k and 9k. However, I would not recommend this for low stress levels!

Thats good news. I was worried you would get hit for port fee's, custom's inspection and demurrage, if you didnt get the port to door service.
