Shipping Companies
Well, we've had three visit us out of the four we got in touch with. Robinsons never called us back so it's looking like it's going to be between those three.
Anglo-Pacific
Britannia
GB Liners
Quotes should all be in by the end of the week.
Anybody have anything good or bad to say about these three?

Re: Shipping Companies
We used GB Liners and had no complaints. They packed everything up in the UK in record time and it was all intact when it arrived in Canada, apart from the glass to one picture which was no big deal. I was a bit concerned about being stood still too long incase they wrapped and packed me!
Can't fault them really

We had AP out before we flew the other week. They quoted us £3900 for 800 cubic feet but if we didn't take our piano, garden furniture and my weights and bench it was £3100. We were impressed with him (Ray) and they seem to be very thorough. PM me when you get your quotes. You're going to TO aren't you?

We had some flustered looking kiwi guy come and do our quote for AP - he seemed pretty thorough...until the other two came and were even more fastidious.
There's not much in it as far as the sales guys went. Although Britannia and GB Liners sent scousers, which could prove detrimental to them getting the business of a die-hard manc...

I'm really surprised Robinson's didn't get back to you - we had quotes from them, Anglo-Pacific and a third whose name escapes me. Quote from Anglo was WAY too expensive - the "forgotten' company was way too cheap, so we went with Robinsons - reasonable quote, liked the guy who came out (I think it was Ron Byatt) and all in all were very pleased. We did all our own packing, except for the few pieces of furniture which their removal guys did. The guys who actually did the removal were quick and efficient - only needed two cups of tea to keep them going, and our stuff arrived safely at this end. Maybe you should just give 'em a nudge...........
