Shipping boxes - intercargo

Hi all,

Has anyone used intercargo.co.uk to ship boxes?

I am planning on sending 7-10 tea chest size boxes(30kg each) from Uk to Toronto and then pick them up myself from the port.

7 boxes comes out at £175 plus £60 collection (in UK) and 8-10 boxes comes out at £262.50 plus £70-£90 collection. (protection available at 5% of value)

This seems very cheap compared to others such as excess baggage who want £550 or seven seas who quoted £721 door to door.

Just wondered if anyone had used them and if they would recommend?
Also are quoting under 3 weeks door to port which is good as well.
I am hoping that they are ok as they will save me some money!

Thanks

Richard

I take it no-one has used this company before then.

I am just worried that the prices seem to good to be true.

Anyone who has shipped boxes - do these prices seem too cheap?

Thanks

The 550.00 seems about right for sea delivery.

We opted for air delivery, so i know it costs us that bit more.
i have heard the excess baggage is good, do a search on the forum i have read that some have used them ;)

excess baggage were pretty good, took 10 days to ship 30 boxes and cost about 1k sterling (nearly2 years ago)

the OP's quote looks suspiciously cheap, esp with the increase in fuel prices etc

I also am very interested, I am considering shipping with them to.

A simple good or bad would suffice

Same here. I'm currently checking into greyhound as well - my local office swears they can ship from london. (I'm in AB already)

I paid circa 700 quid with Seven Seas - so this seems very cheap indeed!

If it is any help we just shipped 5 boxes over via fedex........
we got charged 400quid but believe me they was heavy and i wanted them here quick so i paid for it........
i know the lady that dealt with me was good, had to clear them through customs, but i did that on my way through the other week ;)

i know that if you open an account and send more i would of got it cheaper, but under the circumstances i just wanted them to get here ;)

I would say as well call or email TNT as they came in good, just couldnt collect when i wanted them too, boxes arrived in 4 working days, which is good
It was double that for 2 days lol
They all offer good service, but remember that you will have to custom clear the goods yourself if you are here or send just before you leave the uk so you can clear them when you arrive
