sequence of events has left me confused
Not sure if this situation is unique to me, so would appreciate your thoughts, experiences.
I was requested for an additional piece of information simultaneously I was sent some medical examinations instructions and asked to complete within a couple of months. There was no reference to any interview and since the date of the medical (early april) there has no been no further correspondce from the high commission. Questions I have is 1) Am I still liable to be asked to take an interview. 2) and if so it may be after the anniversary of my medical examinations so (silly question) who picks up the bill for the 2nd medical 3) Why do they change the processing sequence (or is this standard)Surely they should leave the medical until after any pending interview decision. All coments appreciated. Keep smiling |
1. yes. they can ask for an interview at any time till you actually get your visa in hand. even explicitly being granted a waiver is not a gurantee that you will not be called for one later.
2. you do. you are responsible for all expenses arising out of your application. 3. different visa offices do things differently. some explicitly set out the sequence of how things must be done, some do it on a case by case basis. generally speaking (and i must stress the generally) visa offices do not ask for medical exams to be done until the application is sufficiently further down the line, and they have a good faith belief that they will be able to finalise your case and make a decision before your medical exams expire. this ofcourse is no gurantee that it actually will be finalised before the 12 months are up. if the medicals expire, then you will be asked to take them again. |
Re: sequence of events has left me confused
Nobody changed any processing sequence as such doesn't really exist. Some visa posts
send medical forms with or shortly after initial assessment letter (interview decision) even if interview is required, while other do it after the interview. But if you were asked to do medicals within 60 days then it is safe to assume that at that time interview was waved, although it doesn't mean that it may not be called for later. You were also asked to provide additional documents - so, it means processing officer needed more information before making final decision. Looks like there was no problem with medicals as already 4 months passed - if any additional test would be required then you would have received request for such about 2 months ago. So, it seems that your background/security check takes longer than expected and nothing can be done about it. -- ../.. Re: sequence of events has left me confused
Hi Jenkins,
Which Visa post have you applied at. I have a simlar condition from Paris. I received my Medical papers in May2002 ( had applied in Nov2001) and also request for some additional documents which was only the list of Foreign trips as they have added that to the new forms now. Then in early July I again received a letter asking for some additional tests for my wife. Which I have done 3 weeks ago. According to the DMP there is nothing wrong it was probably just a virus or infection at the first instance which caused some bad test results, the first time and they are fine now. So now I am waiting for the next step and assuming that most probably the Interview has been vaiwed and they are doing the background checks. Do let us know when you receive something.
