It seems like eveyone has put up an introduction...
so I thought Id better do one too!
Theres not much to say really. My boyfriend and me are living in London at the moment but we have been talking about emmigrating for a while. Want to do it while we're young I guess. We're not really 100% sure where we want to go at the moment, we've been looking at Canada and Australia, but Im leaning towards Canada because its closer to home, and because Im not sure about moving to a country with snakes and spiders and... Anyway, I found this site and hoping that it will help us make our minds up and find out some more about moving. So hi! :) - Bunny |

My boyfriend is still studying, he's in his final year of mechanical engineering. From what Ive been reading about emmigrating, I think we're in the right kind of industries, only we don't have that much experience (esp my boyfriend) so I think that might be a bit of a problem. |
Re: It seems like eveyone has put up an introduction...
Well engineers are in demand everywhere although he'd obviously be applying at entry level, and would be competing with canadian grads ..... maybe somebody who is engineering will be able to offer more advice.
Perhaps you might consider the BUNAC visa to start with and get some Canadian experience under your belts?? http://www.bunac.org/UK/workcanada/ |

The bunac things looks pretty good. Only Im not sure...would people want to give us a job in our areas if we could only be there for 12 months? Looks like Id better do some investigating.
Plenty on here (including me & the mrs) who came over on BUNAC, got work and then managed to stay. It's not easy though... Big plus it gives you a year to decide if you can handle all the snakes and spiders we have over here ;) |
