As an aside question... how many times can you visit Canada in a year ??

i.e. would they get twitchy if I bought a house in Canada and then came over 4-6-10 times a year for a week or two at a time ??

I don't believe there is anything to stop you from doing this. I own a home in the states and I actually spent more time at my house in the US when I was living in England, mainly because I had more vacation time and funds.

I don't think so, it's a common enough arrangement. A mate of mine funds his aeroplane by flying people from Boston and Washington DC to their cottages in Nova Scotia.
