Hi myself and my partner are planning on immigrating to CAnada, and would like to know more about Saskatchewan, in particular Saskatoon and Regina the differences if there is any. I dont hear much about it. Are they still in need for immigration in the province if so then why are they? What is cost of living like, such as renting 1 bedroom apartments, good parts and bad parts of area. Am just very curious because were planning on going out in november so went to a couple of travel agencies, and they seam to miss out saskatchewan completley, there just a gap between alberta and manitoba. Thanks for reading

Re: Saskatchewan
Plenty of threads about SK, so if you want to do a quick search you'll find some info.
I seem to recall you were looking at Alberta first, then had decided on Ontario, so what's made you think of SK? |
Re: Saskatchewan
Now then, yeah well just getting some advice from different areas, Alberta was 1st choice but since then researched alot on everywhere, and at end of day go where the jobs are, and prople seam to talk about saskatchewan and the small population regards to the size of the province, went to that leeds expo the other week with only 4 canada stalls max and in regards of jobs and possibly opportunity saskatchewan kept popping up, dont get me wrong i have looked up as much as i can on saskatchewant t

Re: Saskatchewan
Sorry working of blackberry here thats with the dodgy ending to last post, so yeah just general information for anyone who has visited or lived in saskatchewan or anyone who may just be able to share information, such as everyday life, outdoor stuff to do, cost of living compare to other cities. And with sakatchewan now, the agency am with say there jobs but saskatchewan is where they seam to be at the most, alot of that same response when at the leeds expo.

Re: Saskatchewan
Of the two cities I much prefer Saskatoon. I have family there and it's a very nice, good place to set down roots. Saskatchewan has shown great strides in it's ecoNomy over the past few years and is now showing an increase in its population due to immigration and the returning of many who left in the leaner years. Good housing/schools/facilities. A reasonably sized airport with flights to most areas of Canada. The only problem I can envisage for you is the winters. They can be brutal but Saskatooners just get out and on with it.
