Salary toronto

Hi
This may seem an odd post, but frankly can anybody give me some feedback on this offer I have of employment
I've been offered $100,000 and my wife has been offered $65,000
We have 3 kids and a property of $750 month with rental assistance

Re: Salary toronto

Your wife needs to pull her weight more.

Does that help?

What sort of feedback do you want?

On the face of it, you should be comfortably off.

But as we don't know how you like to live and what you like to do with your hard-earned pennies, it's hard to say. ;)

May be an odd response, but you have a joint income of $165000 and you get rental assistance?

Not odd at all. I was thinking along the same lines.

I was thinking more along the lines of where are they living in and around Toronto that is big enough to accommodate a family of 5 but only costs $750 per month?

A joint income of $165k in Toronto isn't bad at all. But can you clarify the $750 with rental support issue? Is that what you pay where ever you are now?

Edit: You used the phrase "rental assistance". Could you mean net outgoings accounting for rental income from a basement apartment or similar?

Re: Salary toronto

$165k joint income is good for pretty much anywhere in Canada. Not knowing what you or the Mrs does for a living means that we can't comment on whether you are being overpaid or underpaid of course.;)

Is the $750 a month the allowance that your employer is giving you towards rental then? That's how I read it. If true, then a useful addition to the $100k but it won't rent you a place big enough.

Well, it's not all that good either. Especially with three kids. But it is way above median / average or whatever. They'd be quite well off and certainly could buy somewhere in most parts of Toronto.
