Default Rough costings

Finding it really difficult to budget for living in BC. Can anyone give some rough figures to allow for overheads such as medical, motor insurance, schooling if coming out on a work permit.

What are the costs associated with houses? I see apartments have condo fees but there's also property tax.

Thanks
