Hi There,
I lived in Red Deer for 7 years and did camp a few times in the RMH area. It was not somewhere I would want to live as it is just too small. That being said, I now live in a small town (husband's job) and cannot wait till we get another move.
From my experience the small towns do not have enough upmarket establishments for a chef, especially an experienced one. My son was trained in the UK, worked at the 2 best restaurants in Red Deer and then moved to Calgary as he felt that he was just stagnating in Red Deer. He moves to Victoria in March.

Not just in AB and NS. Those astronomical car insurance premiums aren't solely because the insurance companies are a greedy, gouging, bunch.
