Rich. As flashman said "Very claustrophobic". Did you notice the distinct lack of transport policies being offered for this general election! |
Re: Road rage or bad driving?
Well seems like the roads are just as nuts all over Canada.
Is it rudeness arrogrance or just plain oblivious of other road users. They give more notice walking in a mall than on the roads. cut 3 lanes to turn right, see it everyday, the undertaking complete lack of indicating (even by police cars) or the best when merging coming to a complete stop. What about if the car break downs , leave it exactly where it is. middle lane at a junction, why not. But the real joke is the next car drives right behind it and sits there as if waiting for a red light to change. if 3 or 4 of them do it they have to wait til the last one realises it and reverses a little bit to be able to go around. My wife in our Dodge Caravan was driving in lane 2 of a 4 lane road, outside lanes filled by other cars, so a dumbdumb tries to under cut the line, road speed is 60k, wife doing the standard 65, guy races to under cut everyone but a parked car doesn't leave enough room unless my wife brakes, she doesn't. So he has to hammer on the brakes to narrowly miss slamming into the back of it. Several lights later he pulls beside her to tell her she nearly killed him. Using the same dockie language she pointed out that HE was driving HIS car and HE nearly killed HIMSELF and HE ought to LEARN about the rules of the road. She said his face was a picture, as she turned and pulled off as the light changed, Automatics have their advantages. We have a canadian friend who is near sighted so she waits until till she can she a car coming before she pulls out in front of it to do a left turn. She was confused thou as in our car we didn't have a blue light on the dashboard when the lights were on, as hers always does. She'd never heard of fullbeam in 20 years of driving around town. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH PS if you think GTA and Calgary are bad Winnipeg ws voted the worst place in Canada. so god help us. BUT HELP IS AT HAND goto http://www.driversrevenge.com/ |
Re: Road rage or bad driving?
yep.... That bring back memories of our trans canada tour....
I think it was in Winnipeg that we saw a F150 pull on to the side walk and accelerate up about 50kmph to pass about four cars and turn right.... |

Here, they are mostly normal buses or coaches which have been rented for the duration of the school run. You can't really tell if it's a school bus or not untill you get close enough to smell the marijuana smoke!! ;) My wife and I had to laugh last year in Campbell River, BC. As we were walking around town, we stopped at the side of the road to try and decide where we were going next, and all the traffic stopped to let us 'cross!' We both thought that this was priceless, and we later found out that it happens because drivers have been 'conditioned' to stop for school buses, so whenever they see somebody at the side of the road, they stop to let them cross. I can't see that happening here, somehow!! :( |
