Road Rage
Interested to know if there is much 'road rage' across Canada.
Here in the UK it seems to be a common part of everyday life - from the 1 or 2 finger salute because somebody cut you up, to a full blown argument..........& in some extreme cases even assult & worse.

Oh, it probably is rife in the GTA, people with guns etc. Not seen much to report out in small town canada though. We still wave people out into the line up here.

BTW the truck drivers know how to sit on your bumper/fender if you aren't travelling at their speed.

Re: Road Rage
We haven't encountered road rage at all, we have shaken our heads in disbelief at manoeuvers made by our fellow road users and a couple of times thought we were going die after seeing said manoeuvers, but not encoutered any rage, not even in Calgary/Edmonton.

Re: Road Rage
I drive with one arm out of the window gesturing. Sometimes I get so angry that I drop the phone.

Re: Road Rage
Road rage in Calgary is very rare. Even then, the worst I've seen (and I don't even think it qualifies as road rage) is one motorist honking at another for having done something stupid or selfish.
Interestingly enough, I find the heavy duty truck drivers in the industrial area to be the most courteous drivers of all. I guess it's because they're professional drivers.
Your signature says you're headed for Fort Macleod. I'll eat my hat if you encounter any road rage around Fort Macleod.

Strangley at least one vehicle in the majority of incidents I have seen has been displaying an 'ex-pat' flag (UK, Germany, Scotland, even SA)

The truck drivers you mention, well they could teach our 'White Van Man' a lesson or two about courteous driving

Re: Road Rage
I find the driving worse here, but other drivers' reactions to poor driving are generally better.
But then I guess it's hard to flip someone off or tell them what you think of it when you're eating a donut, drinking a coffee, tuning the radio and talking on your mobile

Re: Road Rage
Quite right you didn't.
Must be careful what i say, i will be an "ex pat" driver in Canada one day soon, although i don't think i will display any flags/stickers. Just got to find out which hand is best to hold the coffee in.

Re: Road Rage
I always hold my coffee in the hand that doesnt have the donut\cellphone\burger in (or isnt gesturing at the a**hole who just swerved in front of me to leave the highway at the junction that is five feet away)
