I thought it was new to old.

If the latter is wrong, no wonder Canadian companies are not getting back to me.

EEk ! No - I had written it wrong....new to old!!! It won't let me edit it...aargh!

Move to Vancouver...it's fantastic! My office overlooks the water, the snowcapped mountains, I live 2 blocks from the beach, 1 block from Stanley Park, mild climate....

There are some great tips here and I've bookmarked this thread.

I prefer an MS Word version of your resume so that the grammar and spelling mistakes are underlined. I also use it to see your formatting - if someone lines it all up with spaces, should they be in IT? If I get a PDF, I ask for a Word version. If you send it in any other word processing format, we cannot read it.

There's probably lots more but that's my twopenneth....

Interesting. In the UK I have always sent my applications in pdf format since I got burnt by a person receiving my CV in Word (a network contact with whom I had an informal interview) kindly "editing" it before forwarding it on to HR. Unfortunately, I had already had my original version of the CV submitted through other channels (a recruitment agency) to HR for another position within the company. Needless to say I was blacklisted by the company (a major employer in my sector in my area) for lying on my CV :frown: I considered legal action but frankly what reputation would that have got me!

Anybody heard of this happening in Canada?

(Forgot to say, this is in an IT related field.)
