Resume to CV, nursing.

A nurse with whom I am closely acquainted is in the process of emigrating from Toronto (Canada) to Essex (UK). She needs to convert her resume to a CV. The wiki entry on converting the other way is of some help but any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.

Daughter?

Perhaps Romford.

Yes. She is intensely unamused at having to pay $300 to take an English language test while her companion, educated in the EU but not in English, is exempt.

As long as she isn't planning on working at Oldchurch hospital , that place wants pulling down.
I can't think of a more depressing place to be sick in

Yes.

Why, FFS?

I doubt it'd a be whole lot rougher than where she is now, crumbling masonry, mould, druggies all over the corridors, bleeding bodies stacked up on Saturday nights; it's like Rush Limbaugh's idea of the NHS.

Her associate's work permit for Canada is expiring so they need to go somewhere that they can both easily find work. They're both EU nationals and both speak English, hence the UK, after that it's a matter of the best available jobs regardless of specific location.

I'm relieved that the previous possibility, working for an NGO in Kabul, has come to nothing.

Ah, happy memories of the burger van outside Romford station after coming back from a night out in London and with a skinful of beer. That's about my only happy memory of Romford mind.

Wouldn't disagree with that. Not very interesting and very useless fact: I had my immigration chest X-ray at Oldchurch hospital.

A valid question. Although just because one works in Romford, one doesn't have to live there. Commuting out from some more chic part of London perhaps would be more appealing. London vs. Toronto? Is that such a difficult decision?!

A job in East Anglia was a possibility, then a chance at London came up. I could hear the sound of hands being bitten off from the farm.

I'm presuming said daughter is a youngish person? And with an urbanite for a father, that's not a surprising reaction. Me, I'd chose East Anglia over London any time but I like the quiet life. And the beer they brew there.;)
