Resume Advice Please

Hi wanted some advice on my resume, I already have one but wasn't sure if I should add all my modules that I have done even if they are unrelated to the job I'm applying for, I seem to think it's best to leave them out. I have loads you see and thought it could go one of two ways 1) They look good 2) They are pointless in relation to the job I'm applying for?? If I do put them in I dont know where I'd fit them without distracting from the point of the resume? Maybe I have just answered my own question lol :D

Any tips advice would be appreciated

Thanks Emma :)

I don't think you should 'exclude' anything - maybe just a general mention would do it - something like "I have experience/qualifications with various, blah, blah"?

That way you can always provide more info if they want it

Emma,

Resumes should always be very strongly focused on the specific job you are applying for.... irrelevant or distracting info sidelines the readers interest in you.

Better to put a shorter resume with focus and relevant detail and a stronger more forcused covering letter explaining why you want that position, strengths, why you want to work for Micro-Widgets Inc etc.

Good luck,

Rich.

You could always add a bit referencing them or saying module breakdown available?? or maybe insert the relevant modules? Hmmm, not sure how helpful that answer was but I am crap at resumes - had to get my Canadian friend to check mine over... I had done a ton of research though so fortunately she said it was good (phew) - apparently though it's a good thing to put quantative data in there..e.g I increased the sales of Micro Widgets Inc by 70%.... dammit i'm off for an iced tea - thinking of work makes my head hurt lol
