We heading to Edmonton to! We going over on work permit on 2nd Dec and then company say they will apply for PNP once we are over there. Cant believe this time in 3 weeks we will be there. Im 26 (27 in Jan) hubbie is 25 and we have a 3 year old daughter.
My dad has been really ill lately... but I feel we have to do it for us as a family or will regret it. He seems to be on the mend lately and they say they will visit.

Hi there,

Have you looked at Boardwalk....www.bwalk.com

We have been renting with them for 19 months, they have townhouses and apartments all over Edmonton.

We arranged everything via email from the UK, it was really easy. They also don't charge a large bond....we only paid $250 and at the time the rent was $999 per month. It's now gone up, I have been told that for new renters it's $1500. But for this area that pretty good, as houses are asking around $1800 - $2000 per month, plus utilities!!!!

May be worth a look...

Word of warning though - my son is trying to find somewhere too, he saw a new ad come on. He enquired about it, only to find it was taken within eight hours! (This was Calgary, though - don't know if it's as bad in Edmonton). Good luck! :)

Wow...that put my little link to shame....lol :)

If you are going to look once you are here, many of the large supermarkets also have notice boards that people advertise on....

I too have been told that rentals in this area are becoming very hard to find. That's in the SW of Edmonton.

You can also check the local paper, which you can probably access online. I know the Calgary Herald has a huge classifieds section, so would suppose the Edmontonian equivalent does.

I used Bwalk for 2 years in Edmonton, they are pretty good, have some nice places. They seem pretty quick to respond to anything that needs fixing, but that might only be where I was living, and the fact that i kicked up a stink one day and they couldnt understand what i was saying, so funny.
Think they were scared not to do anything after that lol

Not sure how it would work out for long term rental you would have to ask - but when we went over for interview stage in Edmonton we stayed in Apple Crate Cottage. Really good, everything you need and lovely owners! They have a web site and you could try them to see if they would be able to assist.

We decided Edmonton was not for us and now have interviews in Calgary in April but can't find short term self catering accommodation there! If anyone can help many thanks!!!!
