Renewing UK passport
I am a joint UK/Canadian citizen, born in 1984, and having lived in Canada since 1994. I have a UK Passport (red) that expired in 2004. In order to renew this passport in North America, will I be treated as a first time applicant? On the passport website they mention that only 'recently expired' or current passports will be treated like a basic passport renewal. Is 2004 recent enough to avoid having to send in birth certificates, etc etc that first time applicants require??
Thanks for any and all help! |
Re: Renewing UK passport
I believe that if your UK passport expired less than 10 years ago you do not need to send a birth certificate with your renewal application.
However, I am not certain of this. Since my UK passport expired in 2003 I am as interested as you if someone knows for sure. |
