One has a beach, the other doesn't. Bet you can't guess which is which.
They are about one hour's drive apart.
The beach one is very small 1200 population vs 200k+ for the Provincial capital, so night and day.

Regina Beach nice but very small area (what I have seen of it -summer time only), depends on what you are looking for too. Obviously Regina has a lot move facilities, more local shops, facilities etc.

Also, not that warm to sit an sun bathe at the moment ;)

If you enjoy beach life ,fishing boating and partying then that's the place for you .Gets very busy in the summer especially on long weekends , then dead during the winter .
45 minute commute to Regina , highway 54 can get slick very quickly.HTH

absolutely like day and night. We have 1081 people in the beach year round rising to 5000 + in the summer. the summer is spent around the water, most people have their toys. It's a great community with an elementary school, 9 hole golf course, bar and bar restaurant open all year around. Chinese restaurant in the summer and many other small businesses.

The high school is in Lumsden, there are buses from all over the area heading there unless it's 40 below.

The commute to Regina can be treacherous at times especially around Lumsden hill when it ice rains or thaws and freezes. March is not my favourite month to commute.

Regina is a city, it has everything you could want out of a city and you only take 20 minutes to get from side to side. There is a rush minute from about 4-6 but it is just that a rush minute.

There are museums, parks, cinemas, restaurants etc etc etc. plenty of jobs. It takes us 4 hours to get to Minot ND for a good weekend and shopping trip. about 3 hours to Plentywood MT for a night of eating and gambling as there isn't anything else there.

Why are you moving here?

tattoo99, have you found any good websites for Regina house rentals?

We've been looking using www.google.ca and have found one or two properties but on the whole not a lot of choice that we can find - there must be some good 'Rightmove' type websites?

My Husband has been offered a job with Loblaws too and is also planning to move over March/April time, then me and the kids later in the year. Not sent his paperwork yet though - no printer ink!

sometimes it's good to work with a realtor, they often have rentals on their books.

Loblaws is on highway 1 the closest community is South West Regina. There are a lot of new sub divisions being built there but not so many rentals. if you look at something south of Dewdney and west of Albert St you will be closest to the hub. but as I said you're only 20 mins from anywhere in Regina.

If you chose Regina Beach you can use the grid Road so you don't have to hit Regina, the road is good in the winter too so apart from driving a bit slower you shouldn't have trouble commuting.

Regina and the surrounding area is growing fast, some owners will only rent on the 1st of the month, maybe the 15th if you're lucky. A long of owners will not take pets, that's why we ended up in Regina Beach because this was the only place who would take pets. It was a good choice for us because this is were we settled.

A lot of people have basements suites to rent, they are often 2 bedroomed with kitchen and bathroom.

Try kijiji, used regina or the Regina Beach Town website has a list of realtors that may have rentals on their books

I don't use BE a lot but you can reach me on facebook, Lorna Davies if you need any help.

Good luck
