Red Seal Exams in Alberta

Red Seal Exams in Alberta

Hi,
I'm currently "in process", with my application for immigration to Canada, AOR Jan 04. I am a qualified electrician in the UK, however I realise that I have to do my Red seal Exam to enable me to work in Alberta. Does anyone have any idea where I can get hold of the reference books (one is the 19th edition, I believe), so that i can begin my studies in earnest now....as it has been some time since I've been back to school. If you can help it would be appreciated very much, and you never know, when you might need an extremely good electrician...just thought I would plug myself now.

Thanks Guys....and Girls!!

Kind Regards
frankieforehead. :)

I'll have to possibly check with the trade colleges to see what exactly is required for me to learn for this exam, but at least I have a starting point. Any way how is the weather in Calgary?...I take that is where you live at the moment? We plan to settle in Cochrane, and were either foolish or shrewd enough to have bought a property there last November.
Anyway, thanks again for the info.

-1C and frosty today ... we had light snow yesterday ... pretty mild so far ... last year we had some moderate snow by now.

Just looked at the town of Cochrane website ... 20 minutes to downtown is optimistic ;)

You're arriving in January? Got any cold weather stuff yet?

Nice weather for a penguin eh? Cold weather kit in the UK is a lot different than the cold weather kit required for Calgary I'm sure...To be honest with you we don't know when we will arrive, the process is soooooooooooooo sloooooooooooow, hopefuly it won't be in the winter months, although we are both used to the climate in Alberta as we spent a couple of years there before, so we kinda know what to expect -40 wind chills etc... But I can't believe the weather there at the Mo, here was us complaining what an awful summer we have had...Hey I suppose we aint seen nothin yet!

Correct ... this is mild right now ... by late October it'll be down to -20C.

If I had a choice, I'd arrive a bit later or a bit earlier ... I would avoid landing in Jan/Feb ... unless you can plan it so a chinook is blowing ;)

I seem to remember it's ... fret, fret, fret, beer & movie, forget worries for a while, then fret, fret, fret again.

If it's what's to be, it all works out in the end.

Just curious ... any teatotallers out there going through the immigration process?

Anybody who was a teatotaller when they started??
