Receiving a shipment query

Hi everyone

Just a question, when your here on a twp can you receive and sign for more than one shipment of goods being sent from the uk?

In a nutshell we have had been here nearly a year and have already taken delivery of our shipment, but my husbands brother who is out here waiting for his lmo, has a shipment ready to be sent from the uk also but its likely his lmo and twp will not be ready before the shipment arrives, so he is asking if we can receive and sign for the delivery at customs on his behalf.

I'm not sure if this is even allowed, does anyone know the implications if any. ?

Many thanks in advance

Are we talking about a few boxes or a container full of stuff?

I shipped belongings over in 2001 when I first moved to Canada on a TWP. Then, when my mother passed away, I shipped a secong load of goods i wanted to keep from her house.

I was still on a TWP and simply declared that I was shipping personal effects to follow CIC just waved me through and didn't even look at the inventory.

He can give the shipper a power of attorney letter for them to clear the shipment on his behalf. If the LMO hasn't been approved yet how come he shipped the boxes? CBSA may want other info before the goods are released. Wait to see what happens I guess.
