Default Receiving OAS in the UK

I know this forum is for British expats in Canada rather than the other way round but wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction to answer this question.....

OAS is normally clawed back in Canada if the recipient has income above a threshold level. But the claw back is a tax which should be covered under the UK / Canada tax treaty, meaning the clawback will not occur and the OAS would become taxable in the UK for an expat Canadian living in the UK but receiving OAS.

Anyone know if this is correct or where I might find the answer ?
