Receiving British Pension in Canada
My parents are about to come to join me in Canada, and they're trying to figure out the best way to get their pensions transferred to Canada. I found things in the Wiki about large transfers, but couldn't find any advice about regular deposits. What's the best way to get a regular deposit from the UK to Canada?
I saw something about HSBC allowing accounts in both currencies. Does this mean that there are no fees for transfers between them? Thanks :) |

Thanks :) Mine is deposited directly into my account in Canada, in Canadian $$. You just need to tell Tyne Park the bank details such as the SWIFT and sorting codes. Not difficult to do. You can get these codes from the branch of whichever bank you choose to deal with. There are no transfer fees. You do realize that their State pensions will be frozen at the amount they get when they become tax residents of Canada. They will not get any annual increases. |
