after a long wait,ive just got my police certificate back and it says NO LIVE TRACE.thought things were going a little to well.
does this mean,i wont be allowed in the country!!!!!!!!!!:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

It's not for us on here to ask what you did but have you declared it on your application?

It depends on the crime and how long ago it was as to whether or not you're inadmissable to Canada.

Have you been through CIC's criminal rehab process?

if its what im thinking of.it was for criminal damage.i forgot all about it as it was years ago,when i was young and stupid.
i had an altercation with a guy and his car while delivering to a store in wales.i could only take so much abuse,and ended up kicking his car door.:o:o:o

How many years ago exactly did your sentence end? If it was less than 10 years ago, you have to apply for criminal rehab, and if it was less than 5 years ago then you are inadmissable to Canada.

If it was more than 10 years ago then you should be fine, as long as you've declared it on your application.

definately more than ten years ago.didnt declare it as i completely forgot about it

If it's more than 10 years ago then you would be deemed rehabilitated, but if you haven't declared it then that could be a problem.

No, that would be 'No Trace', 'No Live Trace' means there is something on it - confusing wording though, I agree!

The various things that can come back on a police certificate are explained below:

NO TRACE - this means that you do not have any convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings held on the Police National Computer.

NO LIVE TRACE - this means that you do have a Police record and information is held about you on the Police National Computer. This information does not appear on your Police Certificate as it has been 'stepped down' in accordance with the Retention Guidelines for Nominal Records on the Police National Computer. The Retention Guidelines for Nominal Records can be found on the ACPO and Home Office websites.
It must be stated that although your conviction/s may have been 'stepped down' they still form part of your criminal history. Your Visa application requires you to declare if you have been convicted of a criminal offence, you must declare all convictions, you may be asked to explain this outcome which could delay your visa application.

DETAILS OF YOUR CRIMINAL CONVICTION - this includes the date of the conviction, the Court where the offence was heard and the penalty imposed. It may also provide details of any Impending Prosecution.

FURTHER INFORMATION 'STEPPED DOWN' - this means that some of the information held on the Police National Computer has been ' stepped down'.

Oh, we had the old ones which said no information (on my wifes anyway) mine had my driving ban for totting up of points.:o

You 'think' you're going via a TWP?!? Surely you know which visa you've applied for! :blink:

Do you have a job offer and a LMO? If so, then you're going via a TWP.

If not then it's another kind of visa.

ive only had the job offer.lmo application cant be processed until proof of my certificate
