A really dumb Question

Can anyone tell me if you need a passport to fly in and around Canada.
ie could I fly from Ontario to say Saskatchewan without one?

No passport required, though picture ID is necessary.

K thanks for that never thought about it until now.
Our UK passports have expired and don't really fancy having to go into Toronto and pay the ridiculous fees to get new ones.

Re: A really dumb Question

I got caught out by this the first time I took an internal flight in Canada.

Checked in OK, but at the gate the boarding lady asked for my ID. I didn't have my passport on me, and didn't yet have a Canadian Driving Licence... I had to fish around in my wallet for any piece of photo ID that I had.

Fortunately I did find an old ID card froma few years back, and even more fortunately, she accepted it.

So no, not a really dumb question - you'll need either your passport or a 'proper' piece of photo ID otherwise you run the risk of being stopped.

Not yet, it isn't. Passports are being physically produced in Washington but applcations are still made via Ottawa For now.

Ah ok thanks for the heads up :o Haven't really looked any further into renewing our passports, we kinda stopped when we saw the fees. At least we can travel within Canada have driving license and PR card so we should be ok.

You're married. You must be wrong one week out of four. Even if you're right.
