Default Qualifications and Employability in Canada

Good Morning

I hope I am posting this in the correction, and if not, I apologise

I am looking at moving to Canada in the next 5 years and had a question about qualifications.

I am a UK Engineering Manager with a BEng (Hons) and MSc and will soon complete my Chartered Engineer (IET). For both personal and professional reasons I am looking at boosting this with a Post Graduate/Graduate Certificate in Management, (don't want to do another full Masters).

I read your excellent Wiki on Equivalency of Qualifications and answered a great deal of q's about Canadian PEng vs UK CEng, so thanks a million

My question is... Given that rise in online courses from established Universities (ie Harvard's Strategic Management Grad Cert), is it worth getting a Post Graduate/Graduate Certificate in Management from an established US/Canadian University to increase my employment potential in Canada, as they would recognize the qualification or just stick with a UK one?

Thanks in advance

Canadian bystanders would, of course, only notice the orgasm if it were a US or Canadian certified orgasm.

Probably not. But in your position I'd go with a Canadian one. This is where you're aiming for and even with an online grad course, you'll be generating a future network in the country you want to move to.

On the other hand Canadian orgasms are insipid.

on the engineering front, the certification that really matters is your PEng

other cert/qualifications that will have a positive influence on your employ-ability are:

The Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP). If you are a PM as well as an engineering manager

and the MBA is very common to the extent that it devalues most business/management courses below that level.

don't think an online cert below MBA level will increase your employ-ability a significant amount but will not do you any harm.
