Province Restrictions

Hi,

I'm looking to emmigrate to Canada with my Canadian girlfriend next year. She'll be sponsoring me as a common law spouse. A friend of hers mentioned that we couldn't emmigrate to a province which she hadn't lived in for at least two years. Is this the case? We want to emmigrate to B.C. and neither of us having lived there before. We'll have all the paperwork in place and we'll have lived together for at least 12 months.

Thanks,

Sean

No. As long as your visa is approved you can live anywhere.

Within Canada

Quebec maybe an exception to the rule as I think you have to fill out different forms for that province (maybe i'm wrong on that thought)

That's once you got the paper work - applying might be different.

When I went through it there never seemed to be any restriction you just need to prove that you have the means to support yourself.
