Re: Which Province of Canada ....
OK Thanks :)
Does anyone have an idea how much my husband should expect to earn as a highly experienced Draftsman/CAD Manager? Where is he likely to earn the highest salary? :D |
Re: Which Province of Canada ....
I chose Ontario, because statiscally, I have the best chances of findinding employment here, and the weather was an important factor as well.

You could check the HRDC site here for wage expectations. http://lmi-imt.hrdc-drhc.gc.ca/stand...sel_criteria=0 |
Re: Which Province of Canada ....
Alberta, been here 37 years and love it. :)

Re: Which Province of Canada ....
Quebec, because that's where my cousin lives!
:D |
Re: Which Province of Canada ....
If I won the lottery and my kids moved too - I would move to Vancouver.
Because my sister lives there and because I miss the sea! |
Re: Which Province of Canada ....
Nova Scotia because that's where my husband was posted to but only for another 2 years. We then have a choice between there and Ontario. Ontario wins everytime!!!

Re: Which Province of Canada ....
Alberta - 300+ days of sunshine on average, access to both the rockies and the prairies, relatively cheap housing and I could get a job here.

Re: Which Province of Canada ....
Ontario ! Have you seen Niagara on the lake and Algonquin park? I rest my case :D

Ontario, the GTA( Toronto). For a start. untill you get some Canadian experiance. When we first arrive ( many moons ago ) we where sent to the Cambridge Area. Hubby was a Machine fitter - he never worked in that area again. But we are located in the GTA and now own our own Business. Toronto may be a big city with all the usual problems - but it is where the work is. Once established - you can move |
Re: Which Province of Canada ....
BC is a beautiful province - that's why everyone wants to move here. Unfortunately, with the present govt we are going through a very rough time - alot of homeless people, beggers on the street - the govt has made many many heartless cuts to social services which have dramatically affected the most vulnerable (the mentally/physically challenged) all in the name of a "balanced budget"......we are being taxed to death provincially...gas tax, tax increases on booze and cigarettes and sometimes this is passed without even notifying the public. We have become a "havenot" province with the pass and present govt each blaming the other for the problem. We have a terrible "downtown" problem in Victoria with drugs and drug addicts everywhere - to the point where some people just will not go downtown after dark. We have had two businesses close down and move elsewhere because they have people sleeping in their doorway at night and leaving the "remains of their business" (if you catch my drift).....
We have many unemployed people - forestry, fishing, ferry, etc. and the govt/BC Ferries have given away a very lucrative project to an overseas company. We have a provincial govt election next year and in my opinion there is no one on the horizon that looks like a possible leader..... Things are very expensive here as well, housing, food - BC is considered by Stats Can to be the most expensive place to live in Canada.
