My priorities are:

1. Town like area, not to isolated, shops and schools (we have a 2 and 8 year old)

2. Employment for hubby, he is a transport manager with his Hgv , I am not planning to work straight away as I will be focusing on the children but when I do look for work I have 14 years experience of looking after children with special needs.

3. We are going out with about 200 canadian dollars so expect to need a mortgage. Don't want to pay above and beyond but would like a nice house.

4. Family are in Ontario and even though I would love to be near them I am quite excited about going somewhere new. We can always move there in years to come once we have PR

Just about anywhere above a 1,000 pepole then.

Willing to be a driver again will mean just about anywhere again with the demand for drivers being so high.

In the big cities less for your money, we trawled through the www.mls.ca looking for 4+ bedroom communites.

Well you'll best settling in near them first ( if you get on with them of course) as if you're iin Alberta you might aswell have stayed in England to do the "Family things".

As you seem to have very few real must have needs you'll probably fit in just about anywhere, trucking is big everywhere so the place is your osyter.

HGV Drivers are coming over on work permits in less than 4 months so it's an option if you want to take the risk.

I have read your posts with great interest.
We live on Prince Edward Island (Ann of Greengables Fame)
The island is beautiful with lots of national parks and beaches.
The island is made up of small neighbourhoods which have very affordable housing with large plots of land and amazing scenery.
The capital is Charlottetown which has a good selestion of shops supermarkets etc and hundreds of place to eat out.
The lifestyle is relaxed and the crime rate very low but being an island there are some restrictions i.e you dont pay to get onto the island but you do to get off either by bridge or ferry when its running.
The weather........spring is mild.summer is hot' and winter Brrrrrrrrrrrr sometimes -29 with lots of snow which we love.
There are lots of great schools but you have to drive as there is no public transport on the island.The good news being if you hold a uk drivers license you dont have to re-take your test again just exchange it for an island one ( That came into place at the begining of Sept. last year.
There was a company on the expats page looking for HGV drivers.........go into search and put in pei and it should be listed there.
The pnp program takes about 6 months to complete but your husband could apply for a work permit and you could be living here while waiting on your pnp to complete.

Dear Vi,

Thank you for your post. Hubby has been to look at the site and has phoned the owner for a chat. LMO could be through within 10 days if the resume is acceptable.

We have also looked at property and love a house at St Catherines. Do you know this area? What is it like? What do you consider the pros and cons are?

Sorry to bombard you with questions but I am very excited at the moment.
